In addition to the complete metal polishing service that Metal Polishing London provide, we also offer a comprehensive restoration service which includes careful dismantling of assembled parts, stripping of old or deficient surface finishes, including, paint, lacquer and tarnished and plated finishes such as chrome and nickel.
Where necessary on heavier items, parts will be blasted to prepare the surfaces for further processing. After the individual parts have been polished and finished and faulty parts and fittings rebuilt or replaced, they are reassembled before the complete item is returned to you in a beautifully restored and working condition.
Our comprehensive stainless steel polishing service includes scratch removal and re-graining. With such a long history of providing metal polishing services we are of course expert brass polishers and bronze polishers and are fully versed in the subtle differences required to handle and process these very different metals to carefully remove signs of damage and age and restore them to their maximum visual potential.
Brass polishing requires a gentle approach because brass is a soft metal alloy. Depending on the type of manufacturing process used to create a piece, the alloy will be made from different ratios of elements. Our experience of brass polishing guides us to know what process was most likely used.
Coupling this knowledge with any further information that can be provided about the age of an item leads us to accurate conclusions about the physical properties, what type of brass we are handling and therefore how best to approach the polishing and what finishes are most appropriate.
As your metal polishers and finishers we will work with you to establish exactly the finish you expect us to achieve. Where necessary we can use a combination of polishing and antiquing to achieve exactly the right look.
On all the metals we process and polish we can achieve a variety of polished finishes including dull polish, satin polish, bright polish and the irresistible sparkle of a full mirror polish. If you need more advice to understand the differences between these finishes, please call.
These finishes can be achieved on small intricate component parts, large raw materials such as sheets, rods, tubes and other profiles and larger architectural either new or as part of a restoration projects. Features such as handrails large sculpture, shop fronts reception areas, columns and balustrades can all be restored, polished and finished on site.

As Metal polishing London is just one part of our complete metalwork facility, metal finishing is just one aspect of the metalwork services we provide. We can manufacture your metal products and then polish them ourselves, all in the same place to keep your costs down. We understand that metal polishing or the fitting of polished metal products can often represent the final touches being fitted after the decorators have left. We understand that your metalwork may be required at short notice and our dedicated team of metal polishers are skilled, experienced and willing to put in the extra hours to take on ‘emergency’ polishing work to meet your deadlines. Whether you require urgent stainless steel polishing to remove scratches that have appeared during the fitting of brand new lift shaft or kitchen or urgent brass polishing of a vintage car headlamp prior to sale or exhibition or manufacture and fitting or restoration of a kilometre of polished brass handrail prior to your grand opening or just making something old and tired look new and loved, get in touch with Metal Polishing London today.
When restoring old items, which require brass polishing, it is usually possibly for brass polishers to determine what the original finish was and sensible to recreate that same level of polish and shininess on the brass item to best achieve the most authentic result which best reflects the finish created by the original brass polishers who polished the item when it was first made.
When stainless steel polishing is required on new products, first the level of polishing required must be established. If scratches and marks and imperfections are to be removed from new stainless steel surfaces , then the relative dullness or shininess that was achieved on the original material prior to assembly must be estimated. Stainless steel polishing by hand on satin or dull polished surfaces that were previously machine polished is sometimes necessary where the surfaces can not be dismantled and removed. If the exact grit level of the original finish can be established from the original manufacturer of the product, that will help in achieving the best result. Stainless steel polishing by hand in such cases will help to lessen the effect of scratches and can serve to blend in the damage to make it significantly less obvious but due to the inherent differences between large scale factory based polishing machines and hand held rotary tools it should be expected that an improvement in the appearance of the surface can be achieved, rather than a return to absolute perfection. That said, we have provided stainless steel polishing services to a large number of perfectionist who are mortified by scratches that have appeared on their otherwise immaculate stainless steel kitchen equipment in their otherwise immaculate kitchens, who have been delighted with the results.
